Play Full Ground is sustained through a community of practice

— a network of students, families, collaborators, and supporters who engage with the work in different ways over time.

This is not a membership structure, but an evolving field of participation.

People enter, contribute, observe, support, and return in ways that shift and change.

Community of Practice

Forms of Participation

Participation in this practice may take many forms:

engaging in studio learning environments

following and reflecting on the work over time

contributing to collaborative projects

participating in conversations and events

supporting access for others

What happens when strangers collaborate?

sharing resources, ideas, and connections

Each form contributes to the continuity of the practice in different ways.

What This Sustains

A community of practice makes it possible for:

  • long-term creative learning to unfold

  • young people to explore ideas without fixed outcomes

  • collaborative and participatory projects to evolve over time

  • a space for experimentation, attention, and inquiry to remain open

The practice continues because it is collectively held.

Ways to Contribute

If you feel connected to this work, there are many ways to contribute to its continuation.

  • Become a supporter

  • Shop artist-made works and publications

  • Share the practice with others

Not all participation is visible or transactional.

Some forms of engagement happen through attention, encouragement, dialogue, and long-term relationship with the work.

This practice continues through many kinds of participation.

Collaborator

Emily Gottlieb

Emily is an environmental education consultant, artist, and ecologist who weaves creativity and science into dynamic public programs. Her work has taken her from California to Hawaii, Alaska, and Argentina, where she has led environmental education and research initiatives. She lives with her family in Seaside, CA, and when she’s not developing programs, you’ll find her climbing mountains with her watercolor paints, traipsing around tide pools, and riding ocean waves.

Our Supporters.

We are grateful to the organizations, individuals, and collaborators who have joined us on this journey. Their support helps Play Full Ground continue to be a vibrant, evolving learning community.
